Interview de Kingsize Blues

Hi ! So, king size blues is a metalcore band comin' directly from UK.Your album "live fast and die" is out on anticulture records. Can you tell usrnmore about you ? What's your biography in a few words?

Yeah we hail from North West London, we play Bastard Heavy Metal and we are currently promoting the release of our Debut EP, Live Fast and Die which was released via Anticulture Records last year. We aint a metal core band though so lets clear that up!! Weve been around since 2004 and the 5 of us go way back since school. Essentially, we are about getting fucked up and getting together and jamming out til we cant jam no more.

In UK I know band like knuckledust, taint, eden maine... Can you tell us more about bands in your country ?

More bands in our country? hahaha there seems to be some great bands coming out of the UK at the moment, Biomechanical are doing really well. They are great players too and are set to be huge. From our town there are bands like The Silent Takeover and Heroes are the Enemy who are turning heads at the moment. They are all young players who have unmatched passion and fury for what they are doing The scene here is predominately Metal-core and Hardcore around where we come from, we seem to be one of the few heavy metal bands in our area but the underground is bursting with talent. They just need the right platform to get there music heard and hopefully the time is now!

Is UK is a good country for metal/hardcore bands? Are there a lot of place to play? Lots of promoters?

Well following on from my previous answer, you play outside of London, and the response is awesome, sometimes even phenomenal! The kids arent used to hearing bands that are semi-decent, professional touring acts and when we come through every fucker and his mom turns up, beer in hand, hair and tits out, banging heads down the front. You get to London however, and like every big city, your hit with what they call Big City Syndrome. Problem with places as big as London is that theres so much to do. Everyone spoilt for choice and when you got 500 plus bands a week in the North London Area alone, thats a lot of music to get through youd have to really special to get a buzz going. But yeah going back to your question, there are loads of places to play and shitloads of promoters. Some are nice, some are fat, some are slim.

Do you know some bands in France?

Happy Face?

Have you ever played in France?

No, not yet but we plan to very soon, I mean how can we not eh?

How was your tour with will haven and crowbar ? Lots of groupies and alcool I'm sure ! haha !

Tour with Will Haven and Crowbar was fucking insane, Crowbar are a heavy heavy band and are awesome guys, too much alchohol not so many groupies though as crowbar stole them all!! Hahaha only kidding. But I think weve adhered to the old legend that what happens on the road stays on the road!!!!
It was great fun though and wed happily go out with those boys again!

thanx for your answers guys ! musik industry loves you!

Cheers man, skin the fuck up.
